THE FORTY FIRST REGIMENT OF FOOT

Military Living History Group

ABOUT THE REGIMENT

The Forty First Regiment of Foot, Living History Group is a collection of people who seek to bring alive the conditions of the soldier of the British army in Canada during the War of 1812.
Our specific re-enactment is the His Britannic Majesty's Forty First Regiment of Foot, which came to Canada in 1799, and stayed until 1816. It was the longest-serving British Regiment in Canada at the time, and holds the most battle honours of the War.
The members of the Association are drawn from the Windsor Detroit area (our Headquarters and 'Right Division'), and the Hamilton-Guelph area (our 'Central Division'). We re-enact battles, field conditions, camps, and other aspects of the military life almost two hundred years ago.
We have an extensive library of War of 1812 literature, and have conducted research into weapons, uniforms, and other items of kit and clothing.
